Obituary for James Benjamin Browning (1952-2022)

Mr. James Benjamin Browning, 69, of Tye Bend, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away Monday afternoon, November 7, 2022 at his home.  He was the son of the late David Coman and Janett Brown Browning born on November 10, 1952 in Barbourville.

James was a former manager for Miller Parking and a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church.  He faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Craig Benjamin Browning and a brother, Craig Lynn Browning.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Melanie Marie Browning of Allen Park, MI; sisters, Janet Lee Osborne and husband, Ronald, of Corbin and Debrah Sue Goodin and husband, James, of Flat Lick; two brothers, David Allen Browning and wife, Nancy, of Swan Pond and Rickey Lee Browning of Tye Bend; a grandson, Isaiah Douglas McClammy of Lansing, MI; an aunt, Sharon Payne and husband, Bruce, of Waynesboro, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, November 11 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Michael DeLand officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Faulkner Chapel Cemetery with military funeral honors.

Casket bearers will be Nicholas James Scott, Shannon Browning, Jason Browning, Shane Tye, Danny Bright and Larry West.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
