Barbourville, Ky. – Jacqueline Neal, 93, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2020. Jacqueline was the daughter of Elizabeth Linville Goodin and John Henry Goodin joyfully born to them on September 26, 1927 in Knox County.
Jacqueline was born in Knox County and raised at Four Mile, Kentucky in Bell County. As a child, she attended the Riverside Baptist Church in Four Mile. It was in her beloved community that she met the love of her life, Frank Neal, while working at the local 5 and Dime Store in Pineville. Jacqueline and Frank married in 1946, moved to Taylor Michigan, and raised together, one cherished daughter, Melanie. Jacqueline was not only a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother, but she also worked outside the home for most of her life to help make sure her family was secure and that they had all of their needs met. Jacqueline worked as a pharmacy tech in Michigan, and in Richmond at the Patty A. Clay Hospital.
Jacqueline will forever be remembered as a kind, considerate and loving person. She was thought of as a mother figure to many in her community, never having an unkind word to say about anyone and always being willing to help others. In her spare time, Jacqueline loved to visit with family and friends, especially during the Christmas Holiday. She had a passion for shoes and loved to have something exciting to look forward to – especially the adventure of travel. She especially enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and the west. Jacqueline stayed “at the ready” for any opportunity to take a trip and experience some place new and different.
