Mr. Hugh Jones age 80 of Morris Lane, Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the widower of Phyllis Jones and the son of Charlie Jones and Dora (Caldwell) Jones. He was born in Knox County on September 19, 1941. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Hugh enjoyed fishing and loved to grow his garden but especially loved being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents, Charlie and Dora Jones and six siblings, Ruth Ann Patterson, Charlene Shiflett, Henry, Clyde, Harry and Gary Jones and a sister in law, Ellen Jones.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his children, Hugh Jones, Jr. and wife Ashley of Heidrick and Herman Jones and wife Alicia of Pineville, nine grandchildren, Caitlin Jones, Quiara Jones, Havin Jones, Jena Jones, Matt Jones, Josh Jones, Rebecca St. John, Tiffany Jones and Christina Corder, eleven great grandchildren, five brothers, Tom Jones and wife Dreama of Hamilton, Ohio, Harold Jones and wife Donna and Mike Jones all of Corbin, Terry Jones and wife Marilyn of Hamilton, Ohio and Raymond Jones of Greenroad. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Hugh Jones will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Pallbearers will be family. He will be laid to rest in the Etta Smith Hubbard Cemetery on Callebs Creek. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
