Mr. Howard Hubbard, 89, of Hinkle, passed away Friday evening, April 26, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late Jessie and Samantha Jackson Hubbard born on July 21, 1934 in Knox County.
Howard was a former coal miner and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. Howard’s first priority was sharing the Word and his love for God. He also enjoyed working in the garden, taking care of his animals, farming and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Bargo Hubbard; his twin sister, Belle Hays and husband, Frank and sisters, Edna Mills and husband, Jim, Martha and husband, Thomas, Chaney Lawson and Coreen Taylor; brothers, Lark Hubbard and wife, Cordie, Wes Hubbard and wife, Genora, Sam Hubbard and wife, Kathy, and Burchell Hubbard and wife, Belle.
Survivors include his loving children, Donald Hubbard and wife, Deborah, and James Hubbard and wife, Ilene, all of Hinkle; a sister, Samantha Crews of Hamilton, OH; cherished grandchildren, Jason Hubbard and wife, Hope, Jamie Hubbard and wife, Tabathy, Kayla Hubbard and Matt Hamilton, Jennifer Vandy and husband, Brad, and Jimmy Hubbard and wife, Constance; great grandchildren, Morgan Hubbard, Breanna Powell, Nolabeth Vandy, Tyra Johnson, Cav Teague, Brody Hubbard and Lucas Teague; special caregiver, Pam Hubbard; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church Wednesday, May 1 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jason Hembree, Dustin Carnes, Nick Gunn, Adam Callebs, Brody Hubbard, Jimmy Hubbard, Jamie Hubbard and Brad Vandy. Honorary bearers will the staff of the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Barbourville ARH Hospital.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and at the church Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
