Mrs. Helen Christine Sams, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Christian Care Community Health Center in Corbin. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Callebs born on December 14, 1940 at Hinkle.
Over the years, Christine was actively involved in the Locust Grove Baptist Church and the Richland Fire Department in fund-raising events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Sams; a daughter, Peggy Lewis and a sister, Doris Powell.
Christine leaves behind her brother, Terrell Callebs and wife, Charlotte; a son-in-law, Eddie Lewis; two nieces, Amy Mountain and husband, Todd, and Tracey Joslin and husband, Jason; a nephew, Randell Powell; many cousins, aunts and uncles; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Christine was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Hart Funeral Home Friday, September 9 at 2 P.M. with Pastor David Barnard officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Marty Gray, Kendall Gray, Ralph Halcomb, Harrison Davis, Ronnie Abner and Mark Siler.
Friends may call at the Hart Funeral Home in Corbin Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
