Obituary for Helen Bernice Dye (1932-2020)

Ms. Helen Bernice Dye, 88, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday evening, October 31, 2020 at home surrounded by family.  She was the daughter of the late Willie and Nettie Fannon Dye born on April 16, 1932 in Bell County.

Bernice was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, doing puzzle books and her trips to Alabama and Gatlinburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; three sons; a sister; five brothers and a special friend, Dorothy Hobbs.

Survivors include her daughters, Georgia Mills and husband, Eddie, of Alabama, Tonya Parton of Gray, Audrey Wilson and husband, Bill, of Callebs Creek, Ashley Hubbard and husband, Kevin, of Hinkle and Susan Woolum of Corbin; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a great-great grandson, Baby Kolson; a special friend, Beulah West of Barbourville; among other loved ones an dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, November 6 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Keith Buster Liford and Rev. Ken Merida officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Fannon Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Bill Wilson, Eddie Mills, Kevin Hubbard, A. B. Smallwood, Devin Golden, Jeremy Woolum and Nathan Daniels.  Honorary bearers will be Hospice of the Bluegrass nurses, Connie and Melinda, Dr. Hasni and staff, Amy Shelton and staff and Jason O’Bannon and staff at Southern Lawn Care.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
