Obituary for Hazel V. “Charyle” Moore (1954-2022)

Mrs. Hazel V. “Charyle” Moore, 68, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2022 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.She was the daughter of the late Steve and Susie Taylor Hamilton born on August 30, 1954 in Middlesboro.

After 20 years, Charyle retired from Tru-Seal, where she made countless friends, many of whom she still kept in touch with.  In earlier years, she also worked at the Corner Drugstore, Walmart, Rite-Aid and Knox Professional Pharmacy.  She enjoyed watching television, shopping and reading. Charyle was a spiritual person of the Christian faith and loved her family and friends unconditionally, she cherished them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was an animal lover and always had pets that were treated as part of the family.  She never met a stranger and loved talking to people.  She will be remembered by all who knew her as a generous spirit and leaves us with beautiful memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever.

In 1973, she united in marriage with Virgil Allen and to this union a daughter was born.  On February 12, 1990, she united in marriage with Michael T. Moore, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Vina Gossard, Mary Gonter and Bertha Brooks and brothers, James, Dan and Alex Hamilton.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Angela Allen Centers and husband, Randy, of Barbourville; bonus children, Michael “Pete” Moore and wife, Marquetta, of Bardstown, Angie Farmer and husband, Steven, of Tuscaloosa, AL and Misty Moore of Louisville; a sister, Fran Baker of Barbourville; treasured grandchildren, Justin Mills and wife, Lindsay, Jeremy Williams and wife, Lacey and Kailey Williams and fiancé, Colby Cornett; great grandchildren, Westin Mills, Jaxon Williams and Levi Williams who will arrive in May; bonus grandchildren, Mic Farmer, Dustin Farmer and wife, Hope, Micah and Max Moore; a bonus great grandson, Jeremiah Farmer; several special nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, December 16 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Garrett Garland officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Justin Mills, Jeremy Williams, Colby Cornett, Tyler Mills, Michael “Pete” Moore and Jaxen Warren.  Honorary bearers will be her former co-workers at Tru-Seal, Melanie Chesnut and her staff.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
