Mr. Harry Jones age 73 of Greenroad, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was born in Knox County on July 19, 1947 and was the son of Charlie Jones and Dora (Caldwell) Jones. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He united in marriage with Norma Sapp and to this union one son was born. Harry loved his family and he also enjoyed his 55 Chevy, going to cars shows, fishing and watching Nascar.
Norma precedes him in death along with his parents and six brothers and sisters, Charlie Jones, Dora Chadwell, Charlene Shiftlet, Ruth Ann Patterson, Clyde Jones and Gary Jones.
Left behind to mourn his passing, one son, Jimmy Jones and wife Mary of Greenroad, Raymond Jones of Greenroad, Hugh Jones of Heidrick, Harold Jones of Corbin, Henry Jones of Greenroad, Tom Jones of Hamilton, Ohio, Mike Jones of Corbin and Terry Jones of Columbus, Ohio, three grandchildren, Deven Jones, Dylan Jones and Zachary Jones. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Harry Jones will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mickey Smith and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews. He will be laid to rest in the Jones Cemetery at Greenroad. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
All services are required to be PRIVATE. This is effective Friday, November 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and will continue for the next 24 days.
Please note, during the ongoing pandemic, there will be capacity restrictions of twenty-five (25) people total, regardless of where the services are held. This includes visitations, funerals, memorial services and graveside or committal services.
Social distancing guidelines of six feet apart will need to be followed as well during all our services. This will include wearing a face covering as mandated by the Governor of Kentucky for the safety of our families, visitors’ and staff.
