Mr. Harold James “Jimbo” Bright, 53, of Artemus, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late Lawrence Bright Jr. and Pauline Carnes Bright born on September 13, 1970 in Barbourville.
Jimbo was a mechanic with Campbell Plumbing and Excavating and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and playing computer games. He loved spending time going to drag races with his grandsons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Angelina Baker.
Survivors include his loving children, T. J. Bright of Gray, Shane Bright and wife, Whitney, of Artemus and Natasha Hudson and husband, Bradlee, of Smokey; two sisters, Jayne Mills and husband, Zandall, of London and Renee Hall of Flat Lick; a brother, Jerry Bright and wife, Crystal, of Cannon; four treasured grandchildren, Abigail and Kaelyn Bright and Colton and Lee Hudson; eight nieces and nephews, two of whom were very dear to him, Brandon Smith and Cody Baker; a special great nephew, Bryson Baker; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Wiley Bright Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jerry Bright, Cody Baker, Brandon Smith, Shane Bright, T. J. Bright, Zandall Mills, Eric Hicks and Bradlee Hudson.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph Oncology in London and Corbin.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
