Mrs. Haley Kathryn Mayo, 85, of Flat Lick, passed away Tuesday evening, March 30, 2021 at her home. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Cenia Epperson Bargo born on August 14, 1935 at Mud Lick.
Haley was a homemaker who cared dearly for her children and was a “Mom” to many other children as well and attended the Bethesda Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, doing puzzles, dearly loved spending time with her family but most importantly loved being in the House of the Lord.
On September 15, 1959, she united in marriage with Kenneth Mayo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; sisters, Zelma Mills, Ivory Prince, Pauline Bargo and Flora Carnes and brothers, Leamon and Clark Bargo.
Survivors include her beloved children, Bea and Jason Gray of Flat Lick, Mike and Teresa Mayo of Buckeye, Elizabeth Thompson of Fort Pierce, FL, Jerry and Michelle Mayo of Corbin, Linda and Roger Doan of Liberty Township, OH, Patricia and Danny Click of Amelia, OH, Alecia Mayo and fiancé, Mike Mills, of Middletown, OH, Pete and Sandy Walker of Greensboro, NC and Sandy Wooldridge of Norwood, OH; sisters Mary McDaries of Barbourville and Dorothy Broughton of London; a brother, Junior Bargo of Cincinnati, OH; several grandchildren, Aaron, Hannah and Courtney Gray, Briana and Hunter Helton, Travis, Trent and Trevor Click, Tiffany Creasy, Sara and Tara Doan, Anthony Mayo, Derrick Thompson, Kylee Thacker, Kenny Wooldridge, Christopher, Brandon, Brett and Matthew Mayo, Angelica Burke, Natasha, Elijah and Eisen Mayo, Amy Franklin, Shane, Jacob and Jeremy Walker; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, April 3 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Alonzo Messer and Rev. Gary King officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mud Lick Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
