Glen Harold Smith, age 71, of Corbin, passed away Friday, December the 6th, 2019. Glen was the son of the late Mary Ruth Brandenburg Smith and Glen M. Smith, Jr. of Louisa, happily born to them on November 2, 1948. Glen will forever be remembered as being friendly and as being a good conversationalist. He loved his family dearly and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Glen was a dedicated employee for CSX Railroad, working 29 years for the company, as a train engineer and instructor. He was a member of the Brotherhood Locomotive Engineers, as well as, the United Transportation Union. In later life, Glen was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Corbin, however, throughout his life, Glen was steadfastly generous with the giving of his time to the churches where he worshiped. In recent years, Glen enjoyed working as a Greeter for Walmart in Corbin. Proudly, Glen was a member of the Army Reserve and a Kentucky Colonel.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Janet and by his sweet granddaughter, Audrey – both who were dear to him, and both whom he missed greatly.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his only child, daughter Elizabeth Copley (Jake) of Mount Sterling and his brother David L. Smith (Carolyn) of Ashland. Four treasured grandchildren also survive Glen: Isabella, Jakob, Olivia, and Riley.
