Gerald Jones, age 80, of Barbourville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021.
He leaves behind two children, Denise Jones French and Dale Jones; two siblings, Wanda Bargo and Corene Elliott; four grandchildren, Kris Jones, Jason French, Kurtis Rapier, Brandi Rapier Fichtner; seven great grandchildren, Adrian, Malakhi, Titus, Lily, Roman, Elaina, Lincoln, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Taylor Jones; his parents, Harvey Perry and Ona Lee Wells Jones; and by seven siblings, Thelma Prader, Perry Jr., Allene Foley, Judy Schelenz, Bernice Riley, Lonis Jones, Haskel Jones.
Gerald worked as a machinist for Chemtron for over 15 years and for Walker, Rifle and Barrell for 5 years. He loved music and recording, and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, spending time in nature and vacationing with his family. Gerald really enjoyed his grandchildren after he retired. He was of the Chrisian faith and could often be found reading his Bible.
Funeral services for Gerald Jones will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
