Mrs. Georgia Miller age 66 of Davis Bend departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of George and Loma (Scalf) Messer born to them on June 20, 1956 in Pineville, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Loma Messer, one brother, Cluster Messer and a sister-in-law, Cleda Messer.
Georgia had been a nursing assistant and had worked at the Quality Inn in Corbin. She was a member of the Big Brush Creek Baptist Church.
Left behind to mourn her passing, one son Jason Miller and wife Teresa of Barbourville, a daughter Kristy Powers and husband Chris also of Barbourville, seven brothers, L.D. Messer of Louisville, Norman Messer of Michigan, Ray Messer and wife Jeannetta of Florida, Renfro Messer of Artemus, Oscar Messer and wife Lisa of Williamsburg, Ricky Messer and Lloyd Messer and wife Darlene and one sister in law Karen Messer all of Corbin, one sister, Maggie Owens and husband Alvin of Gray, two grandchildren, Cara Miller and Konstance Powers and one great-grandchild, Brady Carl Browning. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Phipps, Rev. Jimmy Miller and Rev. Gerald Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Powers -Miller Cemetery at Davis Bend. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jake Messer, Harley Ray Messer, Landon Messer, George Messer, Rodney Owens and Jason Miller. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
