Mrs. Genevieve Victoria Butler Hensley, age 76 of Gray, was born in Oneida, KY on January 7, 1948 to the late Dave Butler and Lottie Marcum Butler and departed this life on April 29, 2024 at home with her loving family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church and enjoyed working in her flowers, watching Golden Girls, caring for Alford, cooking, she loved Christmas and the Christmas Lights, and time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
In addition to her parents: Dave and Lottie Butler; siblings: Minnie Powell, Geraldine Rice, Darlene Webb, Tommy Dick Butler, and Geneva “Peanut” Caudill, and 6 infant siblings preceded her in death.
Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 60 years: Edwin Alford Hensley of Gray; a daughter: Theresa Hensley-Logan of Gray; 2 sons: Edwin A Hensley, Jr. and Tony Hensley both of Gray; 2 sisters: Betty Jo Younts of Corbin, and Stella Davison of Manchester; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Genevieve Hensley will be conducted in the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Lee bringing the Message and Rev. Glenn Collins having Obituary and Prayer. Burial will follow in the Hensley Family Cemetery with Brandon Allen, Richard Hensley, Edwin Dale Hensley, Ricky Butler, and Josh Mills serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Wednesday Evening from 6 to 9 PM, and Thursday at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church from 11 AM to the funeral hour at 1.
