Mr. Gary Wayne Barton, 72, of Joelton, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Harry and Bonnie Nelson Barton born on June 8, 1949 in Corbin.
Gary was a retired truck driver with Yellow Freight and of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Barton; a son, Adam Barton and wife, Laura; a daughter, Amy Roberts and husband, Gary; a brother, Leon Barton; a sister, Kim Raley and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Kloe Barton, Nathan Kelley and Emily, Rylee and Anslee Roberts; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Hart Funeral Home Tuesday, June 7 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Adam Barton, Gary Roberts, Michael Barton, Terry Wayne Doolin, Brad Perry and Brent Perry. Honorary casket bearers will be his grandson, Nathan Kelley, Leon Barton, William Gregg Barton, Curt Dugger, John Finn Laws, Rick Barton, Terry Doolin, George Black and Tommy Black.
The family will receive friends at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, TN Sunday, June 5 between 2 and 5 PM. and at the Hart Funeral Home Tuesday, June 7 after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
