Mr. Gary Richard Bowen, 77, of Corbin, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Debs Russell and Clara Tanner Bowen born on August 30, 1944 in Baldwin, FL.
Gary was a former machinist with CSX Railroad and a member of the Corbin Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various roles through the years. He enjoyed working in his yard and tinkering around the house.
On November 1, 1976, he united in marriage with Vicki Inez Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; a son, David Behr and two brothers, Harry and Russell Bowen.
Survivors include two beloved sons, Gary Russell Bowen of Corbin and Kevin Behr and wife, Jackie, of Jacksonville, FL; three treasured grandchildren, Jason Behr and wife, Haley, Lauren Behr and Brandon Behr; a great grandson, Michael Behr; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Corbin Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Saturday, September 18 at 1 P.M. with Bishop Mike McLaughlin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the McFarland Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the church Saturday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
