Mrs. Freda I. Jackson, 83, of Artemus, the widow of Rev. B. F. Jackson, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 5, 2019 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Rev. William L. and Bessie Vaughn Miracle born on September 12, 1936 in Knox County.
Freda was a former home health aide with the Knox County Health Department and a member of the First Baptist Church Artemus. She enjoyed singing and serving along side her husband in ministry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons-in-law, Beverly and Bobbie Taylor and Dwaine Bellefeuille; three sisters, Argie Dudley, Mary Laura Shelton and Sylvia Bible and two brothers, Rufus and Clyde Miracle.
Survivors include three children, Patty Lawson and husband, Sonny, of Artemus, Cathy Bellefeuille of Barbourville and Pam Jackson of Artemus; two sisters, Idella Williams Hoskins and Juanita Crawford and husband, Luther, all of Middlesboro; two brothers, Bill Jr. Miracle and wife, Carol, of Tennessee and Lonnie Miracle and wife, Nancy, of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Amy Smith and husband, Kevin, Kevin Lawson and wife, Holly, Cindy Smith and husband, Vince, Marti Partin and husband, Kevin, and Malena Cox and husband, Michael; eight great grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Jonah and Lance Smith, Sunni Ann Partin, Darcy Lawson, Noah Partin and Marlee Cox; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, December 8 at 2 P.M. with Dr. Ronnie Owens and Rev. Steve Mayle officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Payne Cemetery at Artemus.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Lawson, Kevin Partin, Kevin Smith, Vince Smith, Michael Cox, Logan Smith and Jacob Smith. Honorary bearers will be Noah Partin, Jonah Smith, Lance Smith, Sarah Mills, nurses and staff of the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center and her church family at the First Baptist Church Artemus.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
