Mr. Franklin Ray Mills, 57, of Swan Pond, passed away Monday afternoon, September 25, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late Rufus Marsh “R. M.” and Bonnie Hensley Mills born on January 9, 1966 in Knox County.
Franklin was a horse trainer and a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding horses, being a jokester and trader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Mills.
Survivors include his fiancé, Jamie Rose, of Little Poplar Creek; two children, Brianna Mills and husband, Josh Riley, and Raymond Mills and wife, Madison, all of Swan Pond; four children he raised as his own, Brandon Disney and wife, Sierra, Colby Disney and fiancé, Jennifer Fulton, all of Corbin, Abby Rose and William Rose both of Little Poplar Creek; a sister, Diana Scalf of Barbourville; a brother, David Mills and wife, Sharon, of Swan Pond; grandchildren, Braelyn, Everleigh, Bailey, Brenton, Kendrick, Klover and one expected soon; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, September 29 at 7 P.M. with Rev. Michael DeLand officiating.
Friends may visit the funeral home Friday after 5 P.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
