Obituary for Flossie (Hollin) Hinkle (1948-2022)

Mrs. Flossie Hinkle age 74 of Gray, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022, in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the widow of Clarence Davis Hinkle and the daughter of Charlie and Vernia (Jackson) Hollin, born to them on April 12, 1948, in Manchester, Kentucky. She had worked at Northern Contours in Corbin and was a member of the Living Waters Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed quilting, arranging flowers, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

      She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Davis Hinkle, her parents, Charlie and Vernia Hollin, one daughter, Shannon Bingham, two brothers, Jackie Wayne Hollin and Will Hollin and ten sisters, Delora Mills, America Jones, Georgia Humfleet, Elizabeth Owens, Mary Shorter, Nanny Brafford, Sarah Gray, Mossie Hollin, Virgie Bowling and Edna Hollin.

      Survivors include her two sons, William Kip Hinkle and wife Dicie of Rockhold and Tommy Larkin Hinkle of Gray, one brother, Larkin Hollin of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, four sisters, Alice Jones and husband Jim, Axie Scott, Martha Shorter and Leona Jargo McCreary all of Gray, four grandchildren, Barbie, Jackson, Cheyenne and Chase, six great grandchildren, Lindsey, Braxton, Cameron, Alaina, Luna and baby ā€œJā€. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Hinkle will be conducted on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Charlie Humfleet officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. She will be laid to rest in the Hollin Cemetery at Gray. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
