Mrs. Florine Gray, 83, of Bimble, passed away Friday morning, February 10, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Reese and Martha Jane Mills born on August 31, 1939 in Knox County.
Florine was a long-time cosmetologist and a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing with her husband, gardening and cooking for family and church events. Florine especially treasured time spent with her family.
On May 1, 1959, she united in marriage with Ewell James “E. J.” Gray and to this union four children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, E. J.; a sister, Tennie Callihan and husband, Bill, and a brother, Albert Mills.
Survivors include her beloved children, Kathy Gray, Glenda Bargo and the late Craig, Rita Smith and James Reese Gray and wife, Lisa, all of Bimble; a sister, Wanda Daniels and the late Lester, of Barbourville; cherished grandchildren, Kacee Bargo, Chandler Bargo and wife, Sydney, Tyler Gray and wife, Santana, Tara Thacker and husband, Tommy, Tim Cain and wife, Bekah, Travis Cain and wife, Renee, and Cameron Smith; great grandchildren, Kylie, Campbell, Croley, Luke, Dakota, Hamptyn, Thomas James “T. J.” and Diesel Reese; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the Turkey Creek Baptist Church Tuesday, February 14 at 4 P.M. with Rev. Eli Broughton and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick.
Casket bearers will be Tyler Gray, Chandler Bargo, Cameron Smith, Ewell Daniels, Travis Cain and Tommy Thacker.
Friends may visit at the church Tuesday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the Turkey Creek Baptist Church Youth Group, 211 East Fortney Branch Road, Flat Lick, KY 40935 in her memory.
