Mrs. Fannie Leon Cole, 96, of Plainfield, IN, passed away Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024 at the Plainfield Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Pearl Payne Bright born on October 24, 1927 in Barbourville.
Fannie was a former inspector with Diamond Chain and a member of the Garden City Christian Church. In earlier years, she enjoyed cooking and quilting.
She united in marriage with Earl Ray Wills and to this union five children were born. Later, she united in marriage with Homer Cole, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Don Ray Wills and Michael Rowland Wills and a sister, June Delph.
Survivors include three loving children, Annetia Dunne of Indianapolis, IN, Matt Wills of California and Steve Wills of Plainfield, IN; two sisters, Janet McWilliams of Louisville and Wanda Hibbard of Barbourville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Barbourville Cemetery Tuesday, February 27 at 3:30 P.M. with Rev. Josh Smith officiating.
Casket bearers will be beloved family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until 3 P.M. at which time family and friends will go in procession to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
