Eugene Rose, age 89 of Barbourville was born in Whitley County, KY on May 9, 1935 to the late Troy Rose and Martha Lawson Rose and departed this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his home. He enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, playing cards, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents: Troy and Martha Rose; his wife: Dorothy Rose; a son: Bruce Rose; a brother: John Rose and wife Berniece; a sister: Debbie Smith; a daughter-in-law: Tina Merida Rose; and a great granddaughter: Rylan Rose preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving children: Elaine Harms and husband Mel, Penny Foley, Amy Carpenter and husband Tyrone; Troy Rose and wife Linda, Don Rose and wife Loann, Jack Rose, and Scott Rose; a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Eugene Rose will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Medcalf officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosenwald Cemetery with grandson’s serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home Wednesday Evening from 7 to 9 PM, and Thursday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 2.
