Mrs. Etta Brafford, age 86 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Al Brafford and the daughter of Ruben and Ally Helton born to them on March 24, 1938.
Etta believed in the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Ally Helton, her husband Al Brafford, Jr., a son, Elmer Brafford and siblings, Argenis Helton, Joe Helton, Nanny Perry, Opal McCullin, Wanda Carter, Terry Helton and twin brother Lemuel Helton.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her children, Bennie Brafford and wife Merlene of Artemus, David Brafford of Barbourville, Diane Riddle and husband Warren of Corbin, Kenny Brafford of Barbourville and Darlene Smith and husband Deanie of London, grandchildren, James, Tabitha, Eric, Amber, Ashley, Krystal, Madison, great-grandchildren, Logan, L.D. Dalton, Alexis, Bentley, Brylee, Jeremiah, Jacey, Jaythan, and Kenzie a special niece, Sandy Broughton and a special nephew, Ricky Smallwood. She also leaves behind many other nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Brafford will be conducted on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Parks Helton Cemetery in Wilton. Pallbearers will be, Ricky Smallwood, Eric Smith, Logan Viars, L.D. Brown, James Bradford, Denny Smith and Dalton Smith. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
