Ethel Smith, age 85 of Barbourville was born in Bell County, KY on May 23, 1939 to the late Boyd and Vergie Lawson Smith and departed this life on March 21, 2025 at her home. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed caring for her Pets, working in her flowers and garden, and time with friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, a sister: Ella Mae Spangle, and 3 brothers: J D Smith, Luther Smith, and J B Smith preceded her in death.
Ethel is survived by her loving son: Bobby Lee Smith of Barbourville; 2 brothers: Luster Smith and wife Kathlene of Barbourville, and Arthur Smith of London; a sister in law: Louise Smith; 3 grandchildren: Dusty Smith, April Smith, and Nathan Mills; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ethel Smith will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Boyd Smith Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
