Esther Marie Napier, 84 Walker, departed this life on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Barbourville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and went to live eternally in her heavenly home. She was born in Rella on August 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Edgar and Alberta Marie Woolum Napier. Esther had worked on the assembly line for the Knox Trim Manufacturing Company.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sam and Vinia Napier; maternal grandparents, Palestine and Mary Ellen Woolum; sister, Joyce Fern Kittrell; and brothers, Samuel “Buddy” Napier, Billy Eugene Napier, and Kenneth Kermit Napier.
Esther is survived by her sisters, Judith Baker and Peggy Jackson and husband, Michael; and a host of her dearly beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Napier presiding. Music will be provided by Melissa Baker. Burial will be on Thursday at the Baker Family Cemetery in Walker. Pallbearers will be her nephews, David Simpson, Tom Montgomery, Edward Keith Napier, James Grant Baker Jonathan William Cavender, and special friend, Mitchell Baker. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Napier.
