Barbourville, Ky. – Ella Lorene Partin, age 95, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 30, 2019. Ella was the daughter of the late Ida Phipps Blankenship and Steve Blankenship, happily born to them, June 28, 1924.
Ella Lorene will forever be remembered as being friendly and nurturing. She treasured her family and friendships. Ella Lorene was known for her hospitality and she loved spending time with, and cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, planting flowers, and listening to music of all kinds including, gospel, country, and rock and roll. Ella Lorene was a member of The Eastern Star. She was also a devoted member of the Lovell Missionary Baptist Church in Emmanuel Hollow. She found joy in the Lord and read the Bible three times a day.
Ella Lorene is survived by four cherished children – Sons: Gary Partin and Jerry Partin and daughters: Sherry Raymondo (James) and Jacquelyn Ghent (Edward). Also left to mourn her passing are three grandchildren: Amanda Partin (Wade Garland), Jennifer Yates (Jeff) and Tracy Daniels; three great-grandchildren: Jarod Partin, Jessyca Lundy (James), and Trystan Yates, and one great great-grandchild, Jocelyn Lundy. Also in mourning for Ella Lorene, is a dear family friend, Irene Asher, whom Mrs. Partin identified as her “favorite person”.
In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her dedicated husband, William Joseph Partin – “Joe Bill”. Three brothers and six sisters preceded Ella in death: Steve Blankenship, Vernon Blankenship, Little Bill Blankenship, Laura Spurlock, Edna McFetridge, Thelma Lovett, Daphne Frazier, Martha Gaddis, and Norma Sexton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Lorene Partin will be at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. with Brother Jim Bargo officiating. Pallbearers are Jeff Yates, Trystan Yates, Edward Ghent, Jarod Partin, James Lundy, and James Gaddis. Honorary Pallbearers are Chad Carpenter and Aiden Joseph. Following the funeral service, Mrs. Partin will be laid to rest in the Beatty Cemetery at Bailey’s Switch. Visitation for Ella Lorene will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. at Hopper Funeral Home.
