Mrs. Eleanor Doris McKnight age 81 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, January 13, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of Robert Fitue Smith and Elizabeth Thompson Smith born to them on July 9, 1938 in Harlan, Kentucky. Eleanor was a homemaker and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. She loved traveling, watching her “stories”, cooking and taking care of other people and being with her family & friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth McKnight, her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Smith one son Ricky Wayne Parks, a grandchild Rynli Adkins and three sisters, Lorene Stevenson, Roberta Cates and Geralene Robbins.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her friend Worley Franklin Parks of Cannon, four daughters, Susan Hill and Dianne Cloud both of Corbin, Penny Bingham and husband Ricky of Bimble and Earlene McKiddy and husband Matt of Corbin, fifteen grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. McKnight will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Calleb’s Creek Cemetery at Hinkle. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
