Mrs. Edith Hubbard, 74, of Hinkle, the widow of Shelby Hubbard, passed away Thursday morning, August 31, 2023 at St. Joseph London. She was the daughter of the late Benny and Maudie Reynolds Hammons born on November 14, 1948 in Knox County.
Edith was a former housekeeper for Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center and a member of the Friendship Holiness Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, tending flowers, watching hummingbirds and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On October 6, 1966, she united in marriage with Shelby Hubbard and to this union two children were born.
Survivors include her two dearly loved sons, Gary Hubbard and fiancé, Hazel England, and Steve Hubbard all of Barbourville; four sisters, Mary Patterson and husband, Clyde, of Four Mile, Ann Bryant and husband, Avery, of Whitley City, Gail Hinkle of Hinkle and Nora Baker of Barbourville; three brothers, Jack Benny Hammons of Barbourville, Wayne Hammons and wife, Teresa, of Naples, FL and Willie Hammons and wife, Penny, of Bailey Switch; a cherished granddaughter, Ashley Hubbard; special friends she loved as a sister and brother, Barb and Zeke Foster; Jaycee King and Kayden Rucker, who she loved as grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, September 3 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Clyde Patterson and Rev. David Rice officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Patterson Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
