Obituary for Eddie W. Davis (1949-2024)

Mr. Eddie W. Davis, age 74 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, June 10, 2024, in the St. Joseph Hospital in London. He was the widower of Ruby (Hale) Davis and the son of Thanes and Myrtle Elizabeth “Boots” Davis, born to them on October 6, 1949. Eddie was a member of the First Christian Church in Barbourville and was an electrician. He loved UK sports, picking on his grandkids and working around the house and yard. He was also a member of the US Army National Guard.

       He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby, his parents, Thanes and Boots Davis and one brother Jack Davis.

      He is survived by his two sons, Eddie Jeffrey Davis and wife Mandy of Owenton, Kentucky and Kristopher Todd Davis and significant other Stacy Carter of London, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, Dustin Jeffrey Davis, Maria Lee Davis, Andrew Todd Davis, Owen Kristopher Davis, Susan Quinta Miller, Brittany Ann Gentry, Brandy Kathleen Davis and Ruby Danielle  Epperly. Eddie also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

      Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Davis will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg McClellan officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Davis, Dustin Davis, Greg Blish, Eddie Davis, Kristopher Davis and Owen Davis. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

      In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Owen County Search and Rescue , P.O. Box 247 Owenton, KY 40359 or to the Gran Paws Dog Team, same address in his memory. 

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
