Mr. Earl Smith, 72, of Road Fork, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward and Nora Smith born on August 25, 1947 in Knox County.
Earl was a former saw operator for Masonite and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, coon hunting and was a musician and avid UK fan.
On October 16, 1967, he united in marriage with June Mills and to this union three children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Smith, two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife, June Smith of Road Fork; two children, Earl Stephen Smith and Jody Smith and wife, Rachel, all of Road Fork; a brother, Charles Smith and wife, Wilma, of Woollum; six grandchildren, Morgan, Megan, Sarah, Tyler, Jonah and Jacob Smith; a great grandchild, Rylan Powell; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, December 29 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hubbard Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
