Mr. Doyle B. Hamilton, 78, of Bimble, passed away Saturday evening, January 25, 2020 at his home. He was the son of the late Burgess and Nannie Belle Sears Hamilton born on July 19, 1941 at Anchor.
He was an auto body repairman formerly with Smith Body Shop and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, fishing, trading knives and hunting.
In 1962, he united in marriage with Linda Wilson and later, in 1972, he united in marriage with Bobbie Powell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Doyle “Dude” Powell; two sisters, Hillard Lee and Rita Justice and a sister-in-law, Bertie Hamilton.
Survivors include his loving wife, Bobbie Powell Hamilton of Bimble; six children, Jim Hamilton and wife, Darlene, of Livingston, Cathy Lynn Perison and husband, Dwight, of Nicholasville, Stephanie Hamilton of Heidrick, Mickey Warren and husband, Ralph, of Bimble, Donnita Riley and husband, Harold, of Hinkle and Jeff Powell of Barbourville; a brother, Louis Hamilton of Barbourville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, January 29 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Mike Griffis and Rev. Drew Munafo officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
