Mr. Douglas Lee Ray age 58 of Barbourville departed this life on Saturday, January 1, 2022 in the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He was the son of Ada (Smith) Ray and the late Dennis Lee Ray born to them on April 15,1963 in Corbin, Kentucky. Mr. Ray had worked for the Kentucky division of forestry and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, one son, Dustin Lee Ray, two daughters, Teia Ray and Wendy Ray, two grandchildren, Jacob Dennis Lee Ray and Audreyeda Faith Misago all of Barbourville, one brother, Scotty Ray of Corbin, three sisters, Chris Stockard and husband Rex of Corbin, Tammie Wyatt and husband Rick of London and Patricia Dozier and husband Ray of Corbin. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Lee Ray will be conducted on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Parshley and Rev. Vernon Jarvis officiating. Pallbearers will be family. He will be laid to rest in the Smith Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
The family has requested that visitors wear masks if at all possible during visitation.
