Mrs. Doris Jean Mills, 87, of Barbourville, the widow of Nasby “Nabe” Mills, passed away Friday morning, December 27, 2024 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Quille Williamson Patterson born September 26, 1937.
Doris was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. She was a talented sewer, enjoyed playing the guitar and sharing the gospel through song. She was also a true Donald Trump fan. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
On June 3, 1954, she united in marriage with Nasby “Nabe” Mills in Claiborne County, Tn.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nasby, she was preceded in death by son, Rondell Mills; brother, Granville and sisters, Ruth, Virgie, Nora and Wanda.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Susan Gibbs and husband, Jeffery, of Corbin and Jackie Crawford and husband, Ricky, of Girdler; cherished grandchildren, Rondell Jr., Bridget, Josh, Coty, Corey and Kaitlyn; several grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, December 31 at 7 P.M. with Rev. Rick Partin and Rev. Jimmy Rarrieck officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, January 1 at 10 A.M. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery prior.
Serving as casket bearers will be Josh Parrott, Coty Parrott, Corey Crawford, Brayden Hubbard, Dakota King and Dusty King.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday after 5 P.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
