Obituary for Doris Hensley (1941-2020)

 Mrs. Doris Hensley, age 78 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of Woodrow and Barbara Rose born to them in Dickenson, Virginia on February 22, 1941. On December 10, 1960 she united in marriage with Joe Hensley and to this union three children were born.

         Doris was a Christian and believed in the Baptist faith. Her most admirable and noteworthy achievement was her gift of love and compassion that she unselfishly, unforgivingly, tirelessly and passionately gave to her husband, children, grandchildren and everyone else who was fortunate enough to be a part of her life. 

         She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Barbara Rose and two brothers, Carl Rose and Bobby Rose.

         Left behind to mourn her passing, her loving and devoted husband of almost sixty years, Joe Hensley. Her children and grandchildren, son, Michael Joe Hensley and wife Heidi Svihla Hensley and their children, Abigail Joella Hensley, Tiana Nakonechny, Jacob Kozlow and Ashley Kozlow, her daughter, Sandra Denise Hensley and her children, Aaron Bargo, Bianca Bargo and Seth Bargo, and her daughter Karla Doris Hensley Lawson and husband Paul and their children, Kristen Magee, Tim Jones, Nathaniel Jones and Nakoa Lawson. She also leaves behind  twenty-two great grandchildren, one brother, Terry “Pete” Rose and wife Kathy of Coeburn, Virginia and four sisters, Linda Rose, Emma Stanley, and Mary Sluss all of Coeburn, Virginia and Anna Jane Stanley of Clintwood, Virginia along with many other relatives and friends. 

          Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Hensley will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 12:00 noon with her grandsons, Rev. Aaron Bargo and Rev. Nate Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Tim Jones, Seth Bargo, Nakoa Lawson, Robert Hamilton, Noah Donaldson and Conner Donaldson. She will be laid to rest in the Hensley Family Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
