Mr. Donnie Reed Helton, age 67 of Gray, Kentucky, the husband of Ruth (Prichard) Helton passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was born on September 29, 1957, in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Roberta (Smith) Helton and the late Dallas Reed Helton. Donnie was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming and riding his lawnmower. Donnie never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone he met.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dallas Reed Helton, two daughters, Rebekah Helton and Brittany Helton, a sister-in-law, Mollie Hale, a brother-in-law, Jerry Prichard and his in-laws, Edward Lee and Flora Elizabeth Prichard.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of forty-eight years, Ruth Helton, his mother, Roberta Helton, two daughters, Chloe Helton (James) and Breanna Helton, a brother, Bruce Helton (Pam) and a sister, Donna Helton (David) all of Gray, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. The family would like to send special thanks to Baptist Health Corbin Staff for all the care and kindness shown to the family during their time there.
Funeral services for Mr. Donnie Helton will be conducted on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sexton Cemetery in Gray. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
