Donnie Gambrel, age 60 of Walker, KY was born in Knox County, KY on July 6, 1962 to the late Virgil and Litha Smith Gambrel and departed this life on January 30, 2023 at his home. He was of the Holiness Faith and enjoyed working in Crafts, riding 4-wheelers, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents: Virgil and Litha Gambrel; 2 sisters: Mary Lou Gambrel and Jenetta Gambrel; and 3 brothers: Earl Dean Gambrel, Larry Joe “Duke” Gambrel, and Danny Dean Gambrel preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children: Donnie Jason Gambrel, Josh Gambrel, Christa Gibson and Chire Buchanan 4 brother: David Gambrel of Barbourville, Ricky Gambrel and wife Dora of Stinking Creek, Billy Gambrel of Walker, and Lonnie Ray Gambrel of Flat Lick; 2 sisters: Wilma Jean Honeycutt, and Penny Lavon Crawford; several grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Donnie Gambrel will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Steven Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Lidge Mills Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. In Lou of Flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Funeral Home to help with the expenses. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home Sunday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
