Mr. Donald Ray Messer age 65 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home. He was the son of James C. Messer and Ruth Lee (McAlister) Messer, born to them on January 17, 1958 in Knox County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Messer and two sisters, Wilma Lambert and Elizabeth Messer.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his three children, Patrick Messer and wife Leah of Cannon, Jamie Samantha Gaines and husband James of Corbin and Donnie Messer and wife Sonnie of Cannon, one sister, Stella Powell and husband Everett of Girdler, twelve grandchildren, Branson Messer, Megan Gaines, Braydon Gaines, Seantai Messer, Mackinzy Earle, McKenzie Simpson, Eric Miller, Miranda Miller, Charles West Jasmine Messer, Annastyn Hollin and Shiloh Messer and one great grandchild, Delilah. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ray Messer will be conducted on Monday, January 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. He will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery at Hinkle. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
