Obituary for Dianna Gray (1950-2024)

Ms. Dianna Gray, 74, of Stinking Creek, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late John and Mahalia Merida Owens born January 13, 1950 in Knox County.

Dianna was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Dewitt Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching the food network and spending time with her family. She was caring and was always willing to give someone the shirt off of her back if she thought they needed it and her door was always open for those in her community.

On April 28, 1965 she united in marriage with Virgil Gray in Knox County.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virgil, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine McVey; sisters, Bobbie Horsley and Burnice Smith and brothers, Curtis, Johnny, Andrew and Troy Owens.

Survivors include her loving children, Michael Gray and wife, Missy, of Woodbine and Kim Patterson and husband, Jeffery, of Laurel County; sister, Sherry Hicks and husband, Ronald, of Gray; brothers, Dale Owens of Barbourville and David Owens and wife, Jennie, of Sadieville; cherished grandchildren, Haley Patterson, Mikey Gray, Casey McVey, Dianna McVey, Justin Thomas, Jake Thomas, Joshua Thomas and Donovan Gray; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Rylie, Maggie, Peyton, Addyson, Asher, Jasimin, Kendra, Beonca, Teona, Dontae and Damien; special friends, Peggy Storms and Ethel Owens; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, July 16 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Gray Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
