Obituary for Dewey L. Warren (1951-2023)

Mr. Dewey L. Warren, 72, of Bimble, passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  He was the son of the late Tommy and Rachel Mills Warren born on August 30, 1951 at Hammond.

Dewey was a retired truck driver from Ryder and a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church.  In earlier years, he was saved and baptized at the Paint Hill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed four-wheeling, going to flea markets, watching westerns and was an avid UK fan.  Dewey loved time spent with family, especially playing cards with his brothers.

He first united in marriage with Judy Marsh, who preceded him in death.  Later on April 24, 2002, he united in marriage with Emma Lee Baker.

Other family members to precede him in death include a brother, Curtis Warren; brothers-in-law, Paul Esakov and James Martin and a step granddaughter, Amanda Jewell Mills.

Survivors include his loving wife, Emma Baker Warren; six children, Gregory Scott Warren, Melissa Renee Moses, Amy Kay McAdams and husband, David, Angie Warren, Patrick Warren and Brandi Helton; step children, Lisa Smith, Buford Jr. Mills and wife, Chrissy, and Teresa Fultz and husband, Gregory; four sisters, Vada Merida and husband, Shirley Addison, Helen Martin, Tammy Hankins and Opal Esakov; four brothers, William Junior “Bill” Warren and wife, Brenda, Kenny Warren and wife, Debbie, Tommy Warren and wife, Josephine, and Jim Matt Warren and wife, Mindy; 12 grandchildren, Taylin Warren, Bradley Moses, Megan Nicole Warren and Elijah Broughton, Whitney Allison Hampton, Kelsey Thomas and husband, Jesse, Lakin Helton, Willow Jade Warren, Hunter Cash Warren, Matthew, Justin, Nick and Halie Trosper; step-grandchildren, Chris Smith and wife, Jamie, Ryan Smith, Matthew Mills and wife, Jayme, Hallie, Jasper and Marcus Mills and Kaitlyn Fultz; seven great grandchildren, Memphis Reed Trosper, Sophia Grace Vega, Ellie and Luke Thomas, Bethany Moses, Alaska Hyde and Ozzy Hype; step great grandchildren, Blake and Vance Mills; a special cousin, Donnie Warren; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, November 3 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Yeager and Powell Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be grandsons.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
