Mr. Dennis Bright, age 81 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Friday morning, July 26, 2024 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on August 31, 1942, the son of Chester and Myrtle Bright. He had been a bus driver for Knox County Schools and for Bell County Schools before retiring. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed old cars, antiques and loved Elvis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Myrtle Bright and one brother, Estil Bright.
Left behind to mourn his passing, three children, Darrell Bright and wife Kim of Flat Lick, Timothy Bright of Flat Lick and Meshell Coots and husband Jeff of Breathitt County, one brother, C.H. Bright and wife Cathleen of Ohio and one sister, Sally Townsley of Flat Lick, six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Hope, Matthew and Jared Coots, Tiffany Gordon and husband Earnst and Timothy Bright, eight great-grandchildren, Hallie, Luke, Destiny, Naomi, Selah, Sawyer, Cannan and Ezekiel Bright. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Bright will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Don Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. He will be laid to rest in the Bob Bright Cemetery on Road Fork. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
