David “Hank” Saunders, 69, of Swan Lake KY, passed away shortly after midnight on January 23rd, 2020 at Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was born to his loving parents, Herman and Mae Saunders, on September 18th, 1950, at Swan Lake KY.
Hank enjoyed playing his guitar, card games, UK basketball, and horse racing. He was loved by everyone that knew him, and was exceptionally kind-hearted.
In 1970 he was united in marriage to Karen Lipscomb, to which a son, David Allen Saunders was born. In 1977 he was united in marriage to Catana Kimble, to which 2 children, Melissa Saunders and Keithen Saunders were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mae Saunders; an infant brother, Eddie Dean Saunders; and brother Billy Ray Saunders, all of Swan Lake, KY.
Survivors include his children; daughter Melissa Saunders and grandchildren Christian, Kalob, and Madison, all of Columbus OH; sons David Allen Saunders of Paducah KY and grandchildren Joshua and Elizabeth; and Keithen Saunders and grandson Giovanni of Barbourville KY; sisters Janet Taylor and husband Glenn of Swan Lake, Debbie Saunders of Swan Lake, and Lisa Adams and husband Gary of London KY; his longtime girlfriend Frances Lawson of Swan Lake; nieces Sheri Taylor of Swan Lake KY, Katie Saunders of Barbourville KY, and Sasha Saunders of Lexington KY; his special nephew Matt Taylor and son Jacob Taylor of Swan Lake KY, and nephew Mason Adams of Richmond KY; close friend and cousin Jonathan Garrison; friends Donald Bays, Ian Henson, Larry Israel, and Junior Bargo; and many other friends and family that will forever miss him dearly.
Funeral Services for Mr. David “Hank” Saunders will be conducted on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Mosher bring the Message and Rev. Dr. Bobby Lawson having the Obituary, Prayer, and Comments. Burial will follow in the Warfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Taylor, Jonathan Garrison, Ian Henson, Keithen Saunders, Kalob Miller, and Junior Bargo. Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Bays. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
