Mr. David Gambrel, Jr. age 50 of Scalf, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, August 2, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 13, 1971 in Pineville Kentucky. He had been a carpenter and worked building houses. He was a member of the Pigeon Roost Pentecostal Church and he loved being with his children and family, camping, fishing and hunting.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of twenty-four years, Barbara (Brown) Gambrel, his father, David Gambrel of Bell County, his mother Darlene Gibbons and husband Harold also of Bell County, his children, Morgan Mills and husband Dustin of Greenroad, David Dakota Gambrel and wife Karley of Artemus and Monica Gambrel of Scalf, a stepson, Daniel Bryant and husband Shawn and his first grandchild who will be arriving the end of August, Parker Ray Mills, one sister, Dionne Witt of Florence, Kentucky, his mother in law, Virginia Brown of Dewitt, nine brothers in law, seven sisters in law and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. David Gambrel will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. A.B. Smallwood, Rev. Lester Grubb and Rev. Randy Beverly officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and brothers-in-law. He will be laid to rest near his home in Scalf. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
