Mr. Danny Michael Richmond, 67, of Barbourville, passed away Friday evening, May 27, 2022 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late Noah Printice and Melba Buchanan Richmond born on December 27, 1954 in Cuba, NY.
Danny was an employee with the maintenance department at Union College and a member of the New Harvest Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Knox County Bee Keepers, Knox County Cancer Patient Fund and the West Knox Wild Game Club. He enjoyed woodworking, computer repair, researching genealogy, carpentry and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
On November 6, 1981, he united in marriage with Tammy Peters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Richmond; a granddaughter, Brittney Childress and great nephews, Tristan and Daymeon Richmond.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Tammy Richmond of Barbourville; four children, Jeremy Richmond and wife, Bethany, of Mt. Sterling, Barbara Abner and husband, Nick, of Corbin, Angela Richmond of Luttrell, TN and Todd Richmond of Barbourville; sisters, Vickie Richmond and husband, James “Pete”, of Keavy, Betty Runions and husband, Bobby, of Carthage, TX and Bonnie West and husband, Clinton, of Williamsburg; brothers, Ricky Richmond of London and Richard “Bo” Richmond of Woodbine; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, June 2 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Billy Stewart officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Richmond Family Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be members of his family.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
