Mr. Danny Michael Mills, 72, of Moore’s Creek, passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Ed and Myrtle Jackson Mills born on November 13, 1949 in Bell County.
Danny was a former steel mill punch press operator and attended the Harvest Time House of Prayer. He enjoyed squirrel hunting and most loved spending time with family and friends.
On February 2, 1968, he united in marriage with Loudina Smith and to this union five children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angel Faye Mills; two sons, Sgt. Danny Dewayne Mills and Adam Mills; four sisters, Mary Shadd, Shirley Mays, Loretta Epperson and Beulah Mae Carnes; four brothers, Jay, Thurman, Clifford and Garrett Mills and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Jo Brown Mills.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Loudina Mills of Moore’s Creek; a daughter, Debbie Mills Hubbard and husband, Junior, of Moore’s Creek; a son, Bill Mills and wife, Patricia, of Dewitt; treasured grandchildren, Shannon, David, Daniel and Cody Mills, Kristen Sizemore, Jessica Chansler and Diamond Mills; three special grandchildren he helped raise and loved as his own, Devon Roark, Christina McVay and Redosha Gambrel; 16 great grandchildren; a special niece, Mary Ellen Gambrel; special friend, Faye Farmer; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, April 11 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Stoney Brown, Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Curt Asher officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mills Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Les Hensley, Devon Roark, Cody Mills, Cody Smith, Jimmy Baker, David Mills, Daniel Mills, Junior Hubbard and James Gambrel. Serving as honorary bearers will be the staff of VNA Hospice.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
