Mr. Daniel Patterson, age 61, departed this life on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Knox County, Kentucky. He was the son of Daniel Boone Smith and Emma Patterson, born to them on February 7, 1958, and the husband of Phyllis (Fore) Patterson. He was a coal miner, a member of Candle Ridge Baptist Church, a race car driver, mechanic, and a collector of ‘stuff’ – knives, cars, tools. Daniel loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his mother Emma Patterson, loving wife Phyllis Patterson, sons Daniel Patterson, Jr., John Patterson and wife Natasha Patterson, daughter Donna Holland and husband Kyle, grandchildren Danni Patterson, Kolson Holland, Ryan Patterson, Jaxson Holland, Nathan Patterson, Lexie Abner and Jabari Carton, brothers Ronnie Mills, Daniel Boone Smith and wife Cynthia, Camel Smith and wife Jessica, Michael Smith, sisters Judy Mills and Brenda Mills, and special family friend Stephanie Nikkie Hubbard. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Boone Smith, sister Kaye Mills, and infant sister Barbara Sue Mills.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniel Patterson will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Rick Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Patterson Family Cemetery at Cannon, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 9, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
