Daisy Patterson, age 82 of Barbourville Kentucky, departed this life on November 14th at Baptist hospital in Corbin Kentucky. Born on April 23rd, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John and Delora Brown Hurst. Daisy was united in marriage to Jimmie Black on March 20th, 1959. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1994, after 35 years of marriage. She was later united in marriage to Earl Patterson on January 6th, 1996. He also preceded her in death on August 3rd, 2010, as well as her son Jimmie Black Jr. and his wife Judy Black, son Larry Black, one stepson James Earl Patterson and 4 brothers Lloyd, Dewey, John Jr. and James Hurst and 5 sisters Lillie Bowman, Versie McFarland, Esta White, Mildred Faye Baker and Katherine Luther.
She leaves to mourn her passing 1 daughter Shirley Black of Barbourville Ky, 2 stepchildren Brenda Patterson and Debra Gray of New Albany, Indiana. Daughter in law Janet Black, 10 Grandchildren, Vanessa Lane, Tonya Womack, Sonya Black, Chris Black, Malinda Black, Leah Messer, Braden Spenser, Eric Black, Mariah Black and Joey Reed, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Daisy was a member of Himyar Baptist church and a former member of Park Hill Baptist church in Corbin where she loved to worship God in song. Daisy spent her life caring for others. She was a nurse at the Knox County health department and Barbourville nursing home before retiring.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Daisy Patterson will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday Evening from 6 to 9 PM, and Friday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 2.
