Mr. Curtis Mills, 86, of Turkey Creek, passed away Sunday morning, January 5, 2025 at Buchanan Place in New Tazewell, TN. He was born January 10, 1938 in Knox County, the son of the late Cloyd and Nancy Mills.
Curtis was a former carpenter, coal miner, farmer and believed in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed farming and especially loved tending his garden. Curtis also enjoyed the thrill of fox hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Miller and brothers, Clarence and Danny Mills.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Nancy Wyatt and husband, Neal, of Corbin; a sister, Lillian Stidham and husband, Harold, of Miamisburg, OH; a brother, David Mills of Flat Lick; a grandson, Cameron Wyatt of Johnson City, TN; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, January 9 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mills Family Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Whitley Jordan Jr., Donnie Mills, Adam Mills, Lee T. Bingham, Ricky Mills and Paul Carmack.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
The family requests that contributions in his memory may go to the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1228, Barbourville, KY 40906.
