Mr. Curtis Harold Smith, 74, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, January 3, 2021 at Baptist Health Corbin. He was the son of the late Burchell and Maude Smith born on November 8, 1946 in Barbourville.
Harold was a retired truck driver and a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church and Masonic Lodge 576. He was an avid baseball collector.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Broughton and husband, Pete, and three brothers, Leonard Smith and wife, Mary, B. R. Smith and wife, Cledie, and James Smith and wife, Betty; a sister-in-law, Shirley Smith and a brother-in-law, Coleman Messer.
Survivors include his children, Curtis Smith and wife, Deanna, of Fort Mill, SC, Tina Smith and husband, Chris Hamilton, of New Boston, MI and Aaron Smith and wife, Tammy, of Nesbit, MS; three sisters, Dorothy Messer of Hazel Park, MI, Betty Miracle and husband, Charles, of Knoxville, TN and Geneva Horner and husband, David, of Tampa, FL; four brothers, Paul Smith and wife, Zelma, of Davie, FL, Aaron Smith and wife, Mabel, of Murfreesboro, TN, H. R. Smith and wife, Emily, of Bimble and William “Clifford” Smith of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Ashley Bonomo and husband, Sam, Curtis Smith Jr. and wife, Claire, Aiden Smith and Tyler Smith; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, January 7 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Christian Health Center and Baptist Health Corbin, especially Dr. Hacker and Karen Ledford.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the Christian Health Center in his memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
