Barbourville, Ky. – Cornelious June Bright Delph, 94, of Ann Arbor, Mi. passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Cornelious June Bright was born 11-14-1928 to Matt and Pearl (Payne) Bright in Barbourville, Ky. She married Arnold Delph in September 1949, in Pineville, Ky., and they would spend the next 63 years together. After marrying Arnold, she moved with him to Michigan where for the next several decades she and Arnold raised their children, Myra, Ron, and Mark. June worked as a beautician for much of this time, and owned a number of beauty shops in the Waterford area where they lived. June really enjoyed the many summers the family spent time camping in the R.V. that Arnold had built for the family. When Arnold retired from work, they moved back to Kentucky with their youngest son, Mark. During the early years of their retirement, June loved to camp with Arnold in their R.V across Kentucky and the south. Eventually they settled on spending the winter months in Florida, where June made many friends. In retirement, June also became an avid genealogist, and spent a number of years researching the Bright family and its history, culminating in the publication of her book, John Bright Sr. of Knox County and His Descendants. She also ran a popular genealogy web site devoted to the Bright family. June was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, her son-in-law Bradley Stuart, and her great-grand-son Bradley Pellegrini. She is survived by her three sisters, Fannie Leon Cole, Wanda Hibbard, and Janet McWilliams. Also surviving are her three children Myra (Bradley) Stuart, Ron (Anita) Delph, and Mark Delph. She is also survived by many grand children, great-grand-children, and a great-great-grandchild. Especially dear to her as well are her surviving nieces and nephews.
