Ms. Cordie Martin Moore, 68, of Barbourville, passed away Friday evening, November 4, 2022 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Daw and Mary Baker Martin born on March 11, 1954 in Barbourville.
Cordie was a dedicated Walmart employee for over 30 years, a former florist at Buchanan’s and a member of Christian Life Fellowship. She was a devoted Christian who was always reading and studying her Bible, loved the Lord and it showed in her everyday life. She always had a kind word to say and never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her sister and family, especially her great niece, Allison Davisson, and great nephew, Tucker Smith. They brought so much joy to her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Donald, Harold and Charles Martin.
Survivors include two sisters, Anna Williams and husband, Harold, of Blanchester, OH and Katherine Smith and husband, Hersel, of Woollum; a brother, Henry Martin and wife, Catherine, of Independence; several nieces and nephews including Kimberly Smith Davisson, who she cherished like a daughter and her loving nephew, Eric Smith, both of whom she thought of as her own; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, November 10 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Rick Broughton and Rev. Johnny Shell officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mud Lick Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Eric Smith, Steve Martin, Matthew Martin, Brody Martin, Dwight Grubb, Glen Smith and Casey Smith. Serving as honorary bearers will be her nephew, MAJ Brandon Davisson and deployed national Guard Soldiers, Tom Buchanan and his family, her church friends throughout the years, her Walmart co-workers, customers and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
